This Light of Mine
Good morning, Me.
I love how you rose up,
larger than life
on the trail ahead
just when I needed you.
Working through
a detached despair
that sloshes about,
my body was achy and weary.
But, I went skiing anyway,
knowing that
fresh air, forward momentum,
the company of trees
were necessary.
As I was climbing,
so was the sun.
It peeked from behind me,
found an opening,
warmed my back,
allowed me to rise
in front of my self.
A quiet pause,
a gentle breath,
a dawning joy,
a deeper notion
that despite the heaviness
of details of the dark,
this light of mine
is good and strong
and so very right.
