A new day dawns

A New Day Dawns

Early morning grayness,
left over rainbursts
come and go.
Winds of change
work the higher clouds
as they twist and turn,
travel to new places.
Bits of blue peek
through the swirling masses
of dissipating vapor.
A new day dawns
as sunlight bathes
the awakening world.
Aglow in the soothing lightness
one can see, feel
hope and promise
as illumination
works its way through
the darker layers
to the ground.
